DESCRIPTION:Theology and Physics: Victorian or Modern.\n\n\n\n\nVenue:\nWoodlands Methodist Harrogate\nDate:\nSaturday 7th December2024\, 10.00 – 12.00 noon with breakfast available from 9.30 am\nTickets:\n\nGeneral admission: £5\nUnder 18s: free\n\nTickets:\nThis event has now passed\n\n\n\nWe are delighted to welcome Dr Jon Reynolds to deliver our seminar in December. \nJon has had an interest in the science and religion debate since secondary school\, and has taught both Religious Studies and Physics.  He has trained Religious Studies teachers and taught undergraduate courses in science and religion. He was the Director of Education for the St Albans Diocese from 1999 till his retirement from full-time work in 2015.  The subject of the thesis for his Doctor of Philosophy (awarded by the University of Durham in 2018) was\, ‘Popular Theology from Popular Scientists: Assessing the Legacy of Eddington and Jeans as Apologists.’  He has been an Anglican Reader since 1990 and is an Honorary Lay Canon of St Albans.
