DESCRIPTION:Living Faithfully: Rediscovering Michael Ramsey’s Five Spiritual Helps (live lecture)\n\n\n\nVenue:\nSt Mark’s Church\, Leeds Road\, Harrogate (& Zoom option)\nDate:\nSaturday 18th January 2025\, 10.00 – 12.00 noon with breakfast available from 9.30 am\nTickets:\nThis event has now passed\n\n\n\nIn a highly appropriate lecture for the New Year\, the Rt Revd Dr Arun Arora\, Bishop of Kirkstall\, will lecture on Living Faithfully: Rediscovering Michael Ramsey’s Five Spiritual Helps.\nMichael Ramsey (the 100th Archbishop of Canterbury\, 1961-1974) offered his Five Helps as spiritual principles for living a faithful Christian life. Although Ramsay formulated these many decades ago\, Bishop Arun will help us to understand how relevant they remain and how we can use them as foundations for a Christ-centered life. \nBishop Arun is known as a thought-provoking and entertaining speaker\, and we are delighted that he is able to give this lecture.  \nSpeaker Bio \nBishop Arun trained and worked as an employment lawyer before moving into public relations as Director of Communications for Birmingham diocese Press Officer for the Bishop of Birmingham. Whilst training for ordination and serving his curacy at St Mark’s in Harrogate\, he was also Director of Communications for the Archbishop of York. Following a time in Pioneer Ministry in the West Midlands\, he served as Director of Communications for the Archbishops’ Council before returning north as vicar of St Nicholas’ Church\, Durham. He was appointed Bishop of Kirkstall in the Diocese of Leeds in 2022.
